Fascial Manipulation Stecco Method

Muscles, nerves and blood vessels are all surrounded by fascia (think the white film around chicken fillets!) which allows smooth movement of these structures.

In our legs this fascia is like a stocking which should glide smoothly as our legs move. If part of this stocking is snagged (this is known as densification) then the movement of the joints and other structures can be restricted, resulting in pain and or loss of movement.

After a full history of your current and any past problems is taken, you are asked to perform some simple movements to help us decide what area to treat.

The treatment itself works on the fascia, breaking down the densification to restore normal glide which in turn increases movement and flexibility which decreases pain.

It is not a pain free treatment but the results can be immediate.
